Independent Living

"Dear Cheryl and Debi,
This weekend my son Gary and his wife, Janet, were here visiting me. They ate some meals here and read my activity calendar. Janet’s mother lives in a very upscale retirement place where they wanted me to go. It is a $200,000.00 buy-in plus the monthly rent. They both commented that the food and activities at the other retirement community do not compare with the food and activities we have at The Villages. When I first moved here, they said that I would soon want to “go out” to eat because the food would get to be like institutional food. Yesterday they said that now they see why I am not too interested in going out. They are so happy that I made the choice to move to The Villages even though it is a long drive for them to come to see me. Hats off to you both and all the staff here, and my personal thanks to you all. You work so hard and keep the atmosphere pleasant. I’m a Happy Camper!"

"Living at The Village at The Oaks is a retirement dream come true. We have everything right here—including tasty and healthy meals, a friendly atmosphere with diversified activities, an Albertson’s shopping center within walking distance, and a staff willing to work out our every need. Who could ask for anything more?"

"Transportation is provided to outstanding performances at the Performing Arts Center and other places. Transportation is also available to doctor, dentist, and therapy appointments, as needed. I am very pleased to highly recommend the newly remodeled facilities at The Palms. Employees and staff do a remarkable job."

"It’s great to feel like we’re home again. We haven’t really felt this way since we sold our home in Sacramento almost 12 years ago. Every day since we’ve been here, my husband tells me how happy he is to be here. We fit nicely in our apartment. The management and staff are helpful, cheerful, and friendly. The people who live here reflect their contentment and happiness in where they live. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The food is wonderful and the dining hours are great; fits so nicely in older peoples lives to make it comfortable. We love being able to get a cold drink and a cookie during the day. Cookies are made fresh and available to all of us at 10:00am and at 2:00pm. How can anyone help but not be happy here? God willing, we’ll be here until he takes us home to him."

"I would like you to know how much I appreciate all the fine people who have made my first few weeks most agreeable. They are so kind, thoughtful, and helpful. It is a pleasure to be around them. We are fortunate to have them."
